I was watching the Nashville episode of American Idol last night and I heard Randy Jackson say to a contestant something along the lines of, "I hope this business doesn't swallow you up." and what he said really hit home. If you are a songwriter, musician or an aspiring vocalist I am confident that you will understand the hardships, ups and downs of this music business no matter what genre you are in and no matter how high up the food chain you have climbed. The key words being "The Music Business", after all it is a business. |

This past fall I was invited to go to the 26th Annual Frank Brown Songwriters' Festival by Mr. Larry Butler who has written one of the most famous sing-along songs of all time, "(Hey Won't You Play Another) Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song". In addition, he holds a Grammy for Best Producer of the Year and over 100 gold albums for his work as a producer and as a coveted piano player during his long reign in Nashville as well as, now as he still is working with the greats. |

I am looking forward to going to Alabama with Mr. Larry Butler to write. I am sure it will be a great experience.
